More about our founder Mariel
She has been working in childcare since she was twelve. Starting her first job as a part time mothers helper after school she quickly became a certified babysitter through the Red Cross and started babysitting every weekend into her teenage years. As the pandemic struck, Mariel fell into nannying and has been working as a professional childcare worker since. She was relocated to the bay with a family from Boise Idaho as their nanny, and has decided to put down roots here as much as possible. She fell in love with what San Francisco and all it has to offer.

Bay Area Childcare core values are safety, trust, and kindness! Keeping children safe is always the top priority. We make make sure our childcare providers keep their cell phone usage to a minimum and know how to scan a room for safety hazards. Building trust with our clientele is vital. We strive to create meaningful relationships with the families we work with, while answering any of their child development related questions. Our caregivers don't shy away from sharing bedtime secrets.
